Games you can play with your Gerbils
Games you can play with your Gerbils
Playing with your pets can dispel any bad memory from your mind and help to uplift your mood. This process of re-inventing yourself is a bilateral one, one in which even your pet will also be in a cheerful mood. Especially if you are a gerbil lover, you would one to always come with new games to amuse your pet and keep him busy. Or else gerbils, if left to them and without any amusement, tend to become neurotic. So to have fun with your gerbil, keep the following points in mind-
1) Get a large enough tank to support your gerbil or gerbils and all their toys. Getting a spacious and clean tank should always be a primary aspect which you need to deal with the utmost care, in order to keep your gerbil happy and gay. Never buy a single gerbil, provide it company by giving him a playmate. If you are in the mood fro breeding gerbil babies, let a boy and girl gerbil stay together in the same tank.
2) Always refill its food tray with some healthy edibles, from time to time. Never let the poor things go without food and also remember that gerbils have a tendency to hide their food stuff, so don't overfeed it. Give it small seeds, nuts, fruits, fresh water fishes and vegetables to eat. Likewise keep its drip water bottle filled with water from time to time.
3) Play with the gerbils a lot and never let them get bored.
4) What are the toys which you can buy to keep your furry friend in a good mood? Gerbils have a knack for chewing things and nibbling them endlessly until and unless they are torn to shreds or have been completely digested. So keep your pet busy with wooden toys. These may include a bit of untreated wood in the form little pieces or a wooden house like a Pop up house. Not giving the animal anything to chew on, will result in its teeth growing out of proportion and it might eat away at other things which may not be good for its health. Never give a gerbil plastic toy to play with. Plastic is a non-biodegradable material, which if chewed and ingested will lead to the clogging up of the gerbils' alimentary canal, and subsequently lead to numerous diseases, sometimes even the death of the gerbil.
5) SO keep your pet busy with wooden toys or a toilet roll i.e.-. a roll of toilet paper to keep its teeth busy. IF the gerbil chews these harmless bio degradable cellulose materials, its teeth will stay in shape and properly trimmed.
Remember that gerbils do not give up that easily so if your pet has already finished several rolls of toilet paper, instantly provide it with a bit of wooden for chewing. Or else, if he or she finds a tiny hole in its cage or tank, he will nibble it till it becomes large enough for the gerbil to escape through it.
